Goaltender Option

In today’s female game, goaltender development has become extremely important, yet is an area that is constantly neglected.  The Martlet Hcokey School has developed a goalie specific program that will allow each goaltender to develop all aspects of her game.

During each morning ice session, goalies will have specific time where stations are utilized to cover all aspects of the position throughout the week.  In addition, off ice specialists will work with the goaltenders to improve their power agility, speed and coordination.  Martlet Assistant Coach Amey Doyle (also Martlet Goalie Coach) will oversee all goaltender sessions with the help of former and current Martlet Goaltenders.

Mental training is crucial to becoming an elite level goaltender, and we therefore will have position specific mental training sessions to help each goaltender with goal setting, routines, imagery, focus and concentration.
