The Martlet Hockey School
The summer 2013 session of the Martlet Hockey School serves as the 10th annual female hockey school offered by the coaching staff and players of the #1 ranked Martlet Hockey team. The year summer camp is located at John Abbott College Arena in Ste. Anne de Belevue on the West Island of Montreal.
Under the direction of Head Coach Peter Smith, who also served as an Assistant Coach of the Canadian Women’s Olympic Hockey Team, the McGill Martlets have appeared in 11 of the last 12 Canadian National Championships. The Martlets have advanced to the National Championship Final in five consecutive years, winning Gold in 2008, 2009 and 2011. The Martlet took home the bronze medal in 2012.
The Martlet Hockey School offers both residential and day camp opportunities. All participants receive hot meals on a daily basis to accommodate both local and out of town female hockey players.Camp philosophy.
Camp Philosophy
The qualified staff at the Martlet Hockey School work hard to offer sound instruction and provide a positive hockey experience. The individualized instruction and quality feedback allows each participant to develop at her own pace.
Our goal is to ensure that each participant leaves our camp with confidence in her hockey abilities as well as a greater understanding and passion for the game.
Schedule
The camp day runs from 9:00am to 4:30pm. Drop off for the group on the ice at 9am is at 8:15, and for those going on the ice at 10:30 drop off is at 9am. Parents are able to pick their child up between 4:30 and 4:45pm. Each player must sign in and sign out on a daily basis.
